mpc+protools synch (double notes)

everytime im ready to record a drum pattern on protools with the mp,
there's some kind of latency occuring when I hit a pad.. it doubles the sound.
my mp is not connected to my mbox via a midi cable tho, im using 1/4's stereo out from the mp to input in the mbox.. Does somebody know how to work this out?

thats because your hearing it through 2 things. #1 - the soundcard and #2 - pro tools. try muting the track on pro tools or mute the mixer on the soundcards control panel. I forget what it is on the mixer to mute but just open it up and I believe it is the software return channel (SW RTN) or some shit. sorry bro havent slept in 24 hours and am working a nightshift right now so i'm a useless mess right about now. peace
