timing off

how come whenever I record a drum pattern and play it back the mpc plays it back all wrong, delaying notes and all that...?

Adjust your Timing Correction. You'll find it on the main screen (T.C.).

Try setting it to 1/32 or completely off. Good luck.

Quantize to the note value that you are intending to play your pattern in.

If you are trying to intentionally play off or add your own swing or delay in the notes without the help of the sequencer then set the tc to off.

i almost always turn dat chit off
it fuxs up my drumz a lot of the times
if i need to tight up the feel a lil i'll do it in PT using beat detective

Timing off, u need to have good timing in order for it to sound straight. If you yourself have bad timing then that's what you hear during playback.

Timing off = need human rhythm.

I record tech/ house midi patterns from an old drum machine and I can record them all at 1/16 and it doesnt sound off.

I find that 1/16 is about right for standard 4/4 dance type patterns. But then try 1/32 if 1/16 sounds wrong.

1/32 helped, so did turning T.C. off.
now everything sounds better for me. thanx :)

Sounds like you had too much flavor going on for 1/16 to handle, lol.
