One of my pins in my MPC 2500 bent in side and my c flash card stop working. Is there any way to fix this. I was thinking exchanging it with another IDE compact flash driver would that work or just try bending the pin back in place......... please help thanks.

Tricky, the more you bend these pins the less sturdy they become. And eventually snap.

Saying that, I think that the easiest solution is to try and bend it back in place. Long nosed plyers will help.

I am having to replace my CF card reader board as I type this message. Mine has a pin bent too. I pulled it out of the unit yesterday and my room mate says he can fix it and is working on it now. when I inserted a CF card my machine would go blank and short out because the bent pin was touching another pin.

I also ordered a replacement part from VST Service yesterday just in case. About $100 and that included shipping. Problem is the CF reader is mounted with the foot switch and head phone jack so the whole board has to be replaced and I am without headphones and foot switch until I replace the board.

It was fairly easy to pull out the board, but be careful with the small ribbon cable this was a little tricky.

Update..

It is a good thing I ordered the replacement board with the CF reader. My room mate said the pin was not only bent but had broken off so even if he could have straightened it it was broke.
