Couple of problems concerning samples during playback and...

How can you record a sample and add it as a track without chopping it. An example would be a short vocal that I didnt want chopped and wanted to add it just is????

Another questions is that my sampled rhythm wont play back during song mode but will play fine during regular sequence play back.. wsup with that????,... P.S: i made sure the parameters were on poly....

Lastly, I know you can hook up USB and delete or "cut" tracks, sequences or songs from the MPC harddrive... but can u delete from the load menu on the MPC?

I did direct record, but during playback it would only play like 1/10th of the length of the sample. Also, how would you get the sample or sound available to add to a track during playback without chopping it and making it a new program?>??

The direct record feature should run until it runs out of memory, so at a guess you dont have the Memory upgrade and you are recording a long sample? (How long is the sample?)


You simply record the sample in Record Mode, then Trim. Once you are happy, go to Program Mode and assign the Sample to a Program. Then simply select this Program on the desired Track. Its so simple that this cant be what you are after.

Note : In Direct recording, the MPC2500 keeps recording to the maximum
time of the free memory and it stops the recording when you
press the [STOP] key. So setting the time fields will have no effect. (In Record Mode)

you answered my question... i just got my mpc... i realize now how simple it is now... but nothings simple if youve never done it before... thanks.. you saved me some valuable time
