which i like cause i've been using the 2000XL for 5 years and i like it, i just needed to get an MPC for my house since my 2000XL is tied up at the studio, i found a 2500 for a steal, and it seems like it'll be perfect. any recommendations for a 2000XL user moving to the 2500???

i'm psyched about
-usb
-more midi outs
-onboard flash memory
-card reader
-master compressor

I got a 40GB harddrive in there, and if all else fails I can stick a CF card in as well to Autoload stuff from. What the hell do I need this 5MB flash memory for? :D

i just keep all my most basic stuff in there, stuff that i'd use for any project. and i don't have an internal HD yet either, so the flash memory is treating me quite well.

Yeah I would say they are similar but really when you think about it having an internal HD, USB comparability, two more Qlink knobs, 128MB memory, and more effects it really makes a difference. It like comparing the 2000xl and the 4000 they are both very similar but obviously they are different enough for AKAI to manufacture different models.

ok the USB rules. and having tons of RAM is great too. i never thought much of it, but now i'm making programs with MPCpad187 here on my computer and saving them right to the MPC via USB, and i can load up tons of drum machines all at once in the MPC and have instant access to all of em.

the compressor is treating me pretty well also

and the filters!!11111 the high pass is so nice to have i remember now always wanting it on my 2000XL. the filters are so nice and my drum sounds are sounding better than ever now

ok i'll update this thread as i get more into the 2500, i hope to mess with the effects later this week...
