Preset akai 1.23 programs or previous owner programs?

I just got the 2500 and did a full restore. Updated os, reformat hard drive and flash card CLEAN. After doing a restore (holding down erase while powering on) i still have preset sound programs.

Are these factory sound programs that come with the os? Does this mean they will reappear everytime i re-flash/restore? I dont want to delete them if i wont be able to get them back.

Sound programs consists of the following
-2500 AD
-2500AD PGM
-Arp_Wave
-CDS
-Ill_Hip-Set
-M_Bass
-NuDay
-PatchedPhrase
-Str&Bass

I thought since i did a full restore everything should be wiped out but there might be a backup memory somewhere storing these so i want to know for sure before deleting.

Those files are in your INTERNAL MEMORY. You have 1-HARD DISK, 2-MEMoRY CARD, 3-INTERNAL MEMORY, 3 I dont think you can erase it! 1&2 you can!

Just as i though, it is part of the os which is in the flash which you can not erase. Thanks

Well i'd imagine obviously not seeing as he has them still there, but as your helpfullness doesnt extend to actually helping ...... i'll tell him how.

Hit Mode button, followed by Load (pad 2)
Then use the cursor buttons to highlight the 'Load from' field, then hit the 'Window' button
This brings up the autoload screen, allowing you to turn off the preloaded patches/sounds etc, starting from a clean slate.

as the others told you, you can avoid to load these factory sounds to memory during boot up, but if you like to have the area used otherwise, you can overwrite this area of approx. 5mb with your own programs and samples. just select internal in the save screen. everytime you save to that area, this will overwrite the whole internal memory!

Jeez! Sorry I helped out Surrey. I was hoping that Concepts could possibly do a little research and perhaps read the manual that was supplied with the 2500.

No hand holding on the MPC forums. Dont cha know that
