syncing my mpc 2500 to my cubase sx3 daw help

What up fam.
Right now am having a little difficulty
currently am trying to sync my mpc 2500 to my ( daw/ Steinberg Cubase SX 3 )
through my (midisport 2x2) i look up couple tutorials on youtube it help me sort of
all of them were only with the mpc 1000 thou.

The furthest i got i sync the mpc 2500 with the daw sx3/
and when i go to press record/play on my daw (trying to record the sequence)
it automaticly triggers plays the sequence on my mpc 2500.
(it records a flat line on sx3) but when i go to play over it in the daw
(it automaticly plays on the mpc 2500) weird.......
i also get the (EXT) in the mpc screen ..... when i press rec in the daw.

Er... you do have the 2500 audio out connected to your sound card as well, yes?

i currently don't have my audio connected to my sound card//
actually i dont have my m audio sound card connected at all.
am going to connected (to my other computer but its currently down)

but i do have a tvt tuner on this computer which am currently using
will that help yes or no?

If you already have a sound card, what would you use the tuner card for?
