Help Me!!!!!

Hey everybody,

First post here. Just got my 2500 a few weeks ago and finally had time to mess with it at home this weekend. Just getting my feet wet but loving it so far.

Or at least I was!! I just took it to my studio and tried to hook it up. I connected it to my Midi Express XT and I am getting nothing. I have a Yamaha S80 as my master keyboard going in to midi 1 on the XT. I have a Motif rack, Virus rack and a Nord Lead rack going in to midi inputs 2/3/4. My old trigger finger (hate that thing) was on 5. I deleted the trigger finger on my midi set up in Pro Tools and added the MPC.

Whenever I hit the pads nothing shows up on my midi track. I hear it through the audio inputs of course. If I open up Reason and load up a drum kit, I can't trigger it with the MPC. Not that that is how I want to use it but I just wanted to see if it was working.

If I plug my trigger finger in with the same cables it works. What am I doing wrong? Probably something stoooooopid.

Have you enabled midi on the track on the mpc ?

Main screen, bottom right corner, set it to whatever channel you have protools set to receive on. the A B C and D on the mpc after the channel indicates which of the four ports on the back it sends it to.

Which RACK do you own?

I told you it would be something totally idiotic. Working like a charm. Now I just have to try and sync it with Pro Tools....gulp.
