Just an idea, but i've started to convert some of my commercial sample cd's into MPC program format.

I'm wondering if anyone has done the same and wants to exchange the mpc program files.

I can't see there being any problem with copyright infringment as we won't actually be exchanging the samples or sounds themselves, just the program file. As long as you already have the sample cd and none of the sample file names are changed it should work by just bunging the program file into the relevant folders.

Anyone done some and want to swap ?

So far i've only done the following:-

Atomic XL - Music Productions:-
Bassdrums
Claps
Drum Kits:-
Beatbox
CDBD
DR110
HipHop
Jazz
Karmad
Percusssion
Timbokit
TR-505
TR-606
TR-626
TR-707
TR-727
TR-808
TR-909
Hihats
Perc
Tom & Congo

Best Service - Blazin RnB
Fem Vox
Vinyl Scratches

BSoundZ - VEC2:-
VEC2 Bassdrums
VEC2 Claps
VEC2 Cymbals
VEC2 FX
VEC2 Human Beatbox
VEC2 Offbeat Bass
VEC2 Percussion
VEC2 Snares
VEC2 Synths
VEC2 Vocals

A little off topic, But one day I was on EBAY and realized that a lot of the sample CD's have demo's that you can download for free, And most of them don't sound that bad, But for me personaly there is nothing like hooking up that 1200 and going through my vinyl collection and gathering samples that way! the built in CD burner works as well! But it's something about that vinyl!

Also why we are on the subject of samples does anyone have these following samples:
#1 - The "NASTY" Sample, Teddy Riley used it on Heavy D's We got our own thing (At the very begining of the song.)
#2 - The "Yeah" Sample from the same song, Also at the beginning.
#3 - The "Jamaican Air Horn" Sample, I found some, But there all s#!++y sounding.

Also, Does a thread like this exist yet, i did a search and could not find one, If there is not one I will start one. Forum members can list samples that they are looking for, and then other members could provide a source, or a link, or even E-Mail that sample to the individual (If it is not breaking any rules.)

LET ME KNOW!

Errr, illegal how ?

As I said, not wanting to trade samples themselves, just the MPC patches created which reference the samples. That aint illegal.

I was thinking along the lines of if i've got the same CD's as other people, rather than everyone creating patches we could share the conversion workload. i.e:

We've both got sample CD name A and sample CD name B, I create a MPC program patch for CD A, you do the same for CD B, then we just swap the program file, not the samples.

I don't actually need anymore sample cd's, Audionews has that well and truly covered, I just don't fancy creating programs for all of em lol.
