:?: I just set up my 2500 after a satisfied 2 + years spent with my 1000. I sold my 1000 to a buddy, but I still had beats that were unfinished on my CF's. I knew that the 2500 stores on the same format, and assumed that my beats would load on the 2500 identically as they were on the 1000 (short of possibly certain effects and pans, etc.) I was mostly right, but not fully. It reads the beats from CF fine (samples, sequences, songs) but the levels of the samples are all tweaked.. general output is just a lot quieter, I had to turn volume up all the way in the headphones to even hear the beat..

any ideas / suggestions regarding this topic are appreciated, I have other friends with 1000's I can borrow to track out old beats, but this seems like a valuable topic to clear up for those in this situation. I did a search on the forum to no avail..

thanks

the default velocity for programs changed on the mpc 1000 from 100 in the first os to 70 in os 2.01 i think...
on the mpc 2500 it defaults to 100 - so if you load a 1000 prg it might read 100 but is only at 70?
70 on the mpc 2500 at -12db master is quite low for some people - when turning up the levels be careful not to get to hot...

thanks. I literally just got into the 2500, haven't really dug around yet. I'll check velocity, normalize all that. It could be an OS thing too... at this point is it recommended to use JJ ?? I know it's a matter of taste, are y'all using it? I also don't know which OS I have on the 2500 now, I'll post that up.

challah.
