Hey all just a quick 1 as i am undecided whether to purchase a 2500 or not i already have the 1000 with jjos2 + 80 gig HD and pad upgrade so il let you guys help me. What are the benefits of a 2500 over a 1000 other than the extra couple of outputs, 2 extra midi slots, cd drive and the bigger pads and surface space is there anything else that makes the 2500 any better for production as im keen but trying to justify my spend. Thanks for the help in advance.

Im pretty sure this exact question will have been discussed in the 'MPC Comparison' forum, where this is being moved to...

Apart from what you have mentioned the other differences are negligible. What I did was elevate my 1000 at a 30 degree angle, like one of those laptop platforms, i would just get osxl for 1000, the new drum grid edit is a step up and really effortless to edit stuff, and the assign loop feature of a sequence. Its funny i prefer the smaller size pads, it really is better for doing bass runs, as i set the pad notes out like the 4 strings of the bass. If I was in your position i'd like to get a motif xs rack, then i'd be laughing
