2000XL v. 2500?

I'm in the market to pick up an MPC here in the next 3 months.
I'm wondering if I should go with the 2000XL or the 2500 though.

If I get the 2000XL I'll likely pick up the output board to go with it so I'll have 8 outs to work with.

I've heard the 2500 has 10 built-in?

It's the difference of about $300 at American Musical.
Plus, my dude was telling me that at AM they allow you to make 5 installments, BUT they send you the equipment right away?

One other thing, I've heard that I could save money and get the 1000 and pay $30 for a software upgrade that will allow it to function as a 2500.

Which one should I get?

between the 2000 and 2500-- get the 2500. Im suprised only $300 difference.

I personally like the workflow of the 2000xl, and its build is type rugged. but its discontinued and the 2500 is the newer product that took its place With more features.

the 1000 isn't a bad idea either. Its just built kinda cheap, check out the 1000 forums to see complaints.
