XL vs. Asr-10

what ever fits my man, i use a xl and a s900 and the old casio RZ sampler that is dirty as shiz

And is the Casio sampler the RZ-1? I had that one, but the sampling time was so short that I let it go; I was short of money. It has cool sound tho', so if I had it today I would propably take that extra time and use it more. I have heard about some less common RZ's with more sampling time. Is that what you got?

yeah it only samples enough to sample say a hat and some decay, then i resample into the akai
its far grittier than any other sampler ive ever used

with the ASR what is it that makes it so special? I looked on google and it seems to be 16bit so what sets this apart from the 12 bit market ie the s900/950 and the emax 1 and the sp1200?

I found something about it. It's called "RZ-1 plus". Seems like it's an uprgrade made for the Casio by another company then Casio. Around 250 pieces were made or something. Read about it here: http://www.cosmods.de/en/my-bends/retro ... -plus.html

was looking for a sk-1 but thought 8 bit a bit harsh, not into aphex twin these days. ACID!!!
