2500- 1000

Right ive had the mpc 1000 now for 3-4 years i think, and ive been toying with the idea of replacing it with the 2500. Just wondering if you think theres enough of a reason for me to change. im begining to have the problem with the pad sensitivity recently and to be honest im trying to decided whether to replace the pads or sell it and pick up a 2500. what you thinking?

I suggest you go to your local gc/samash/whatev and take a good couple of hours to play on the 2500 (I do it all the time and I already got a 2500, lol.) Try and get a feel for the larger pads, pad sensitivity, workflow, or whatever else is buggin you about the 1k. Once you've done that, you can then decide whether the 2500 is right for YOU. Otherwise, you'll end up with an earful of other ppl's biased opinions and might make the wrong decision

that's solid advice right there. I will add this though, you'll probably save yourself a ton of cash by upgrading your pads and switching to the JJ OS. I mean $2000.00 is nothing to sneeze at. I don't know how much the new pads would cost you but I'm sure you'd still have $1500.00- $1700.00(maybe more)dollars to spend on some other gear. Just my 2 cents but like Ras said, go check it out for yourself, weight out the pros and cons, read these forums and then you'll be in a position to make the best decision.

Where the h*ll do people shop??
Even Sam Ash and GC will do $1550-1575 on a stock MPC-2500 and it's been like that since at least Aug 06.

What they will do and the listed price at their stores are two different things.

Just depends on the salesperson. There is a big mark up on gear. I used to have to friends that worked at Sam Ash and they would give me very close to cost on gear . But they dont work there anymore

I have no friends there and rarely go to either but I always question price anywhere I shop.
You should never believe listed price is selling price.
Look at the used units on eBay not selling because people paid too much for them and are trying to get it back.
Used stock units are under a grand on eBay.

seriously dont be a sucker and get scammed on by those prices. But to the og poster, ide say if the time is right and its not gunna have you eatin top ramen for too long, go for it. you know what to expect. I seriously think when it comes to your main unit, you need to spend alittle more. i mean u figure once its done its done. its your mp you know. do what you think is best and you could see your self happy with. but yeah GC is the way to do it. ive been kicked out so many times for buggin on equimpent.
