One thing to keep in mind is that if you see a used MPC on GC's website you can usually have it shipped to your location.
I just picked up my MPC1000 for $500. It was $600 but I noticed that the Window button was slightly wonky so they knocked the price down a bit. It is in perfect shape. And it has the Akai ram upgrade.
On GC's website I saw an MPC500 used going for 400 bucks.
