I have an mpc 1000, but have the opportunity to buy an S20 for pretty cheap...should I go for it, or pass?

buy it. it is a great sounding unit, which can be used for live loop manipulation (check the instant reverse button), but also as a good expander, able to play a sample accross the midi range much better than the MPC1000. It has a few nice additional features such as sample rate reduction, loop capture, BPM calculator etc... I highly recommend it. It is also very sturdy.
