~IS THIS A GOOD DECISION?

Okay, let me start of by saying that I do original and I sample(not saying that sampling isn't original but yall get me).
Alright I have a 2Kxl and I am thinking of going to a 1000 because I like the auto chopping function and it already has effects. Now on the 2Kxl I see on da net has a max of 50,000 notes per sequence, and when you are peaking that, you get hiccups b4 the sequence loops back around, I have experienced that(I was on some other sh*t ).

I see now that the 1000 holds 100,000 in a sequence, okay now I am at the point like am I behind or some sh*t??, I know theres alot of people that use the 2000xl but I personaly like sampling on the 1000 better , I was at one of my patnas crib and when I chopped the Diana Ross "I'm Coming Out"(the part that diddy used and all) into 64 pieces and flipped it WAAAYY differently, I almost nutted.

And it HAS USB!!!

So basicly can I get somones opinion on this, If you were in this position would you go ahead and get rid of your 2Kxl and cop a 1000 or wat. Dont get me wrong, I like my 2k, but we not married yet

thanks 4 the input,...I just really want to know about the note capacity on da 1000, cause I do research about it and it says the 1000 has a max of 100,000, and then I read about the 2Kxl and I get..

..."Maximum Events: 300,000 notes (maximum 50,000 notes per sequence) (notes equivalent)"

....could some1 help me with this, I just dont have that much experience on da 1000, but from the outside lookin in it looks good

heres my opinion. i got the benefit of having both. i roll with a crew and i have a xl and my prtner has the 1000. so i get at it all the time. im not real satisfied with the 1000. pads feel like crap and they are small as hell compared to the xl. thats a downer for me because i really go with how a machine feels when you use it. the 1000 has some features that are cool. but overall. it doesnt even compare to the xl. so thats what we use mainly is the xl. and the usb isnt even really a feature. because its just a mass storage device. same as my cf card on my xl. except i can use my cf card in my pc without stopping what im doing on the mpc. it stops all of your progress if you need to use it on the 1000.

Okay, so theres a couple of JJ OS's that could upgrade the capacity....thats a plus. Ima think on it a lil longer ..Wow JJ is da man tho..lol

I started on the 2000 XL .I agree its comfortable as a drum machine/sampler once you learn the machine its like a good girl who keeps putting out. You hate to let her go. Now the 1000 is little bit more smaller but packs a nice punch. It can compete in every way with the 2000 XL, with all the added features makes it a good buy. When you take in consideration the price your getting a nice bang for you buck. If you are going to buy an MPC i believe its a must you get the new line 500, 1000, 2500 etc. Its the technology thats really making the difference nowadays with these machines. Everyday i learn something new that the 1000 is capable of doing. Hope that helps out.

^^yea man everything helps out, Im actually thinkin bout listin my 2kxl on ebay tonight ...Im also goin off to college next year, and I think it would suit me a lil better, I might wanna move it around alot, along with the motif....im still thinkn

FUKE DEES SHEET. ..Ima keep my 2Kxl ...wat can I say...Im sprung....my baby been faithful this long...why get rid of it....plus Im gettn money off some other gear I have so i think Ima just save up and find a asr10... ...thanks 4 da input every1, but ima keep using my left pinky to hit record and left index finger to hit playstart...
