New 1000 os vs Mp4k

I'm might sell my mp4k and cop a 1000. Does the 1000 compete with the 4k besides the 24bit?

crappy 1k hardware build
lack of quality effect, filters, no cd burning or loading, no real 8 outs, no built in phono, the 1k with its constant corrupting.

You know that if you give up the 4k that the 1k will be simpler for you. And the person you gave the 4k will be very, very, very happy that you didn`t have a clue what you were doing.

dowgrading isnt such a crime. I know that i would prefer a more simple mpc over a bloated 4k

The 4k is in no way bloated. If you are a old school sample based cat it is actually three kits in one.

Like a premo or Pete Rock setup MPC+S950+keyboard all roll into one.

I say three kits cuz most new cats believe that these producers only use a mpc or 1200 only!!!! That is false they also use a full sampler to play their chop multitrimbly plus extend the sampling time. The 4k does all of this as it is akin to a advanced synth.

The 3k era bought in the 4bar phrase drum samples and the 2xl bought in 16 levels to play melodies. But the 4k can do all inside cuz it is a full sampler just the user has to understand what a synth, sampler, or instrument does.

Little understanding of synth and samplers is alright for a straight groove phrase shit you don`t even need to move up from a 2xl to do that. But if you want to do more the 4k far surpassees the capabilities of the 1k.

But it is the user first not nessarily the machine yes he should give it to someone that can do more with it and kick himself 2 to 3 yrs later when he is more knowledgable, understanding and experienced and realizes how synths, midi, and the basic technology works.

We all I believe sold, gave up gear that we didn`t fully understand at first cuz of your own lack of understanding and how to work it.

I gave up my keyboards before looking for the lastest too but what I truely needed wasn`t new keyboards with new presets. What I need to know was how to use what I had.

Best believe some lucky experienced guys will pick up used gear cheap and go crazy with it cuz the previous owners lack awareness on how to fully use it.

Peace do you. Sell it and get your 1k. Then 4 to 5 yrs later try and rebuy it once your understanding goes up.

Blue Haze is right, in this game one needs patience. The 4k is the last of the full fledge sampler series Akai has at the moment. The 1k is ok and offers a more simpler approach to sampling but the 4k does it all. Even the new 5k lacks features only found in the 4k. I'd keep the 4k and learn as much as I could 'cause it's a monster. Since I play keys more than I sample, the 4k offers me everything I could wish for in a all-in-one box. I tend to sample more with the computer now-a-days, but I love knowing the fact that if I need to use a good hardware sampler, the 4k is just that ticket.

I wanted something more portable and don't have the loot for another mp right now. I was trippin though, ima keep the 4k. That's why I posted some shit and I got some convincing that I trippin. However, the new os for the 1k is pretty dope. I don't see the difference between that and the 2500.
