New member, long time forum reader. This is my question. I have an old blue/red mpc1000 and a new black/black back mpc1000 (wife birthday present) The blue one is in excellent shape (no dead pads or bent cf port wires) and the software is the same but the new one doesn't count off when i press play and the it just feels odd. Is there supposed to be a difference? Should I keep old faithful or be happy for the upgrade. Which should I sell?

put the black casing on the blue mpc and then sell the "blue" one so your wife wont know that you sold hers problem solved.

I guesse your talking about the metronome counting off before you record a sequence? If thats the case there is probably an option to bring it back. I aint sure though I havnt used the 1k in quite some time.

When you are in the main screen, hit f2 "click" and viola, your count in settings. Don't sell either. Wait, and give one to your kid.

Ha ha, someone should start a post on how people have bought gear and tried to either hide the item or the cost from wives and girlfriends (or WAGS in the UK)
Mine thinks my 2k cost £40
