I don't know if anyone already post this up but I've been using the 2000xl for over a year now and I just got a brand new 2500.

the 2500 is a beast hands down! feature wise and work flow, it's a 2000xl murderer. especially with the jj os.

here's my beef.

Some people might say that the sound doubles up when you hit a pad a certain way on the 2000xl. Some see it as an error, i look at it as a blessing. it emulates the way a snare drum or any other drum would be like. you hit your pad and leave it there momentarily it'll double up. it makes it sound dope when doing live drum rolls/fills.

On the other hand, 2500 does not do this. im bummed. especially because I use my mpc as a live instrument. i guess im gonna have to do it manually.

what's your take on this?

hey i want you to try something. it might not be the easiest thing to conceptualize without first seeing the physiology of the pad structure.

push down on your 2000 pads, right in the middle, with one finger.
can you tell if the rubber ITSELF moves down (NOT COMPRESSES) at all (probably 1mm) before hitting the sensor?
or does it COMPRESS immediately, implying that the rubber sits directly above the sensor?
