hi, im currently using a fully maxed out mpc 1000 (came with new pads) and running JJOS 2...im comfortable with the workflow and features but lately im not likin the feel/build of the machine if u know what i mean, i used to have a 2k and i miss the pad size and sturdiness of it.

i have an opportunity to scoop up a 4000 but i was worried because i see posts in the 4k section about crashes and bugs, just from searching and not actually owning a 4k- it comes off as "buggy" to me (i havent had a sinlge problem with jjos2)

my other option would be the 2500, which is basically a 1000xl...im feelin the tilt screen and size/spacing of everything combined with jjos2 i'd feel comfortable

my question is what are the main features/traits that separate the 4k from the 25k??? pros and cons?? i've been reading reviews and looking at spec sheets but i just need input from experienced users.

(i heard something about using VSTs with the 4k, and also its sampler engine is warmer)

thanks

The hear-say about bugs & problems on the 4k doesn't hold any merit in my book, it hasn't stopped anyone (who knows how to use one) from laying down their ideas.

And yes you can utilize your fav daw editor/sampler with the 4k which allows you to be somewhat creative, by swapping samples back and forth between computer & mpc. With your pc & the 4k, you can build on a nice little sampling network. 8)
