Sold my XL and hoping to get at 4000 or a 2500. but I need some help figuring out wich one I want. Money is not an issue.

4000 got:
alot better, higher resolution, seqvencer.
better effects and filters.
higher sound quality

2500 got:
auto chop
auto mapping after autochop
adjustment of pad sensitivity
phrase sample
non destructive chop

does the 4k have something similar to the non destructive chop??

what functions do the 4k have that the 2500 dont? other then the ones I pointed out?

what do u think? feel free to point out anything im asuming wrong, I havent tried any of the 2, I just read the manual and such.

hope u can help me out. peace!

4k has better instrument programs
better all around sound options
higher polyphony, more ram.

to me those are the most important things that the 4000 has over the jjos
but to me jjos2+daw > mpc4000
jjos2+daw vs mpc4000+daw is another story, but i've got no reason to sweat
issue with the 4000 is that it's older, slower, and it doesn't have the current interest of a programmer like the 25/1 have

4k has auto chop as well as region shuffle- what the 2500 added was chopping based on peaks not time variant like the 4k.

4k has automapping (creation of a new program) after chop as well as creation of a phrase sequence, similar to what the Triton used.
The Triton did have some extra functions that made it work differently.

4k has adjustable pad sensitivity

4k has a form of phrase sample but it not the same as what the 2500 does.
Since the phrase sampling on the 2500 doesn't work too well it's a questionable function on the 2500 also.

The 4k has region shuffle which allows you to do a non-destructive type of chopping by chopping and re-arranging the chops.

As for the things you listed as advantages of the 4k, there's a lot more to it than those few things.
