Question about comparing the 500 to the 1000

Consider you're getting an MPC.

Would you get..

One that Doesn't have timestretch (which makes it so you can change a song from 40 to 90 bpm.. and speed up the voice)..

But consider it has something that chops up the sample for you in the exact places. So it doesn't take you 30 minutes to chop up your samples..

(MPC 500 and MPC 1000)

i would get the 1000 hands down...i dont even kno which one has timestretch but thats not a big deal and there are workarounds like getting a seperate peice for it. Also I dont kno which one has autochop, thats not a big deal either, i doubt theyre on point anyway. Also without timestretch you can still change a samples speed/pitch, its just that they will be attached to each other. But if its between 1000 or 500..deff get the 1000 you wont be disapointed but u mite be the other way around.

If you get the 1000 you can have everything you want courtesy of JJ OS - timestretching is there out of the box, and JJ adds the chopping. I'm not aware that the 500 offers any kind of chop function over the 1000, but you can't install JJ on the 500 yet. If you can afford the small extra cash, the 1000 is really a no-brainer. I don't think I could survive with 12 pads in 3 columns, for example. I'd go mental. The display, too, I couldn't live with a little drum machine display, I spend too much time in the waveform screens.

I have the 500. But last weekend i tried the 1000 with JJ OS2. Fukk thats great! I can totally reccomend it! The JJ turns the MPC into a massive audio weapon!
