MPC 5000 or MV 8800?? I know it's a worn subj but....

I saw RZA on this documentary and was saying how more user friendly the MV was, and even said "Unlike the MPC, the MV is totally user friendly". I've never had a MV so I can't say. Are they that much better samplers?? Or I'm sure it's just a matter of opinion. If anyone has an MV here speak up, I'd like to know what you think makes the 8800 the machine to use. Thanks

i dunno bout user friendly MV, cause i've played with the 8800 in GC and i've never got my head around it
ive tried using it a couple times and never get anything done. so i just stick with my 2500 and lay dem down quick

RZA is paid to say that sh!t...you already got 5000 keep it and master it...both machines are capable of same thing.

you can figure out differences between the two looking at specs list...I would never sold my 2500 if Numark was putting out better gear....but that's just my opinion.

I would not say one is better than other, both got unique feature or two, depending on what your flavor is.

I used be on 2500, n0w I'm on 8800, if you got any specific questions I can answer. No biased type questions which one is the machine tho...

Nym picking gear is no different than your current move.
Some wpuld say it bad some would say it's good but you know why YOU are doing it so it ok based on your needs.
Far too many people pick gear for all the wrong reasons so the next piece will always look cool or better then there's the classic so and so uses it.
Most people simply aren't older enough to know or been doing it long enough to remember what is was like when gear was more limited in what it could do.
That forced people to have to learn a piece or find methods to get the job done.
Look at how much you appreciate about the 1k because of the time on the SP, that's what people are now overlooking.
People aren't on an island anymore they are just docked in a port with ships coming in and out like clockwork.
Problem is they never check to see what the destination of a ship before they jump on it.

Then again we live in a world where so many people lie about how easy it was for them to learn a piece and how they make 4 or 5 beats in 30 minutes that when it doesn't happen instantly a person they start to feel they have the wrong box.

I know we are getting off target but look at all the people who live in VA and have lived here all there life yet have never seen many of the things people travel here to see.

Most people aren't aware of their surroundings.

But back on the topic people just seem to find it really hard to accept that the MPC isn't for everyone.
I know guys who use Cubase or Logic but no MIDI.
They use it like a big recorder doing live takes and just playing more to add more.
No copying and pasting, just full takes.
Some would call it a waste or a bad method but it's how they work and what they know.
Just have to always remember when you are working on something of theirs to generate a Beat Clock just in case you have to lock something to it later.

UBANKRECORDS, what you have to stay focused on is that you are making 2 transitions right now one is the piece of gear the other the methods needed to fit your needs.
Expect to go backward to go forward.

Years ago when the ASR came out the first thing I did when I got it was disconnect the S-950 to force me to learn the ASR.
Once I knew the ASR it was bye bye 950.
Just give the 5k time, at least then you will know for sure if it's wrong for you.
