Mpc 4k vs MV

had them both for a year, really like them both for very different reasons. But have just sold the MV. So the 4k WON.
Thought I would write a little comarison.

For
Mv - user interface for sample editing and creating programs is wonderful.
- has a decent reverb!
- has a decent chop shop.
- that clipboard button
- 8 sliders that are useful in quick edit mode + mixer
- part eq.
- excellent drum seq window

Against
Awkward quantise
Lack of dedicated pad bank buttons.
unflexable saving/loading
Poor global editing kills synths possibilities.
Didn't like the swing templates.
Entering sample names is torture.
Awful recording preamp

MPC4k
For
Mac integration
best sequencer ever
Hugely powerful keymap sampler
Excellent loading and saving options.
Easy to name sample with keyboard.

Against
the worst reverb ever made.
Stupid gain offsets
Cumbersome U.I for sample editing of synth parameters.
Too many different screens
No quick edit sliders.

For me it fundamentally came down to.. the mpc seq sounds better than ANYthing else to my ears.
The roland does lots well, but is not exceptional like the mpc in any area.

Just got a 4K ...I lost my MPC500 in a hotel room traveling I forgot it and somebody jacked me me so I splurged on the big dawg.

Glad I did though...

Tremendous capability...some flaws but sequencer and overall features are just bananas...had a roland sonic cell so I have all I need to make heat.

if I had both I dont think I'd be able to let go one or the other

I've also had both and the 4000 is what I walked away from. It was s just a matter of not trying o make the MV out to be an MPC clone. It fits me like glove and a is way smoother if accepted on its own merit.
