Just trying to get some input. Whats your thoughts one the MC-808 compared to the MPC 1000/2000/xl I want an MPC but my Budget IS about $540 with Shipping. Every time on Ebay I keep getting over bid. I was almost thinking of Buying a MPC500 But I don't know. Ideas? MC-808 Seems Cool but I don't know if you can sample the same as a MPC And I do Like the MPC PAD setup compared to the MC-808 style. But I'm not sure the difference ...I NEED INPUT..I Love Drum and Bass And Trip-hop and Hip-hop. Thats The style of music I work with!

if you want a groovebox, get the 909, the 808 has no screen..you hook it up and edit via pc..to me its more a live machine. you put together your stuff combined with the computer, arrange it and take the box to your gig..

id say, save more money and buy a 1000, learn it and use it..had a 505, i didnt like it..but thats my personal view, it works to other ppl..

The 808 isnt worth it, the mpc series has always been user friendly , where as roland 808 and roland 909's will have you reading the manual instead of making beats, mpc's you can be making fat tracks within the first day ,my friend had the 909 and it had glitches i dunno about the 808 though, he was also amazed about how easy the mpc was to use compared to his 909, he recently sold his 909 because he hated it<PEACE
