Ok. I want a classic MPC - don't need any of the fancy shiznit that the 1000 or 2500 do as I am currently using Ableton Live, just something fun that I can bash out some beats and sample a few break on.
I know that the 2000 doesn't do zone slicing or anything; how easy (really) is the sample chopping on it. If it's easy enough to either cut up from scratch or learn how to do it quickly, I'll probably go with the 2k as I've got one, boxed, ready to go for less than £300.
If, however, the extra money and wait is worth the 2kXL (and remember, we're just talking a fun, great-sounding addition to my studio here) then I'll hold off.
As I said, I don't want anything too hefty, just a bit of fun! Thought
