hello

i'm thinking to switch to mpc1000 because i can save much more space! :)

i'm a bit scared about usability

i've jj os1 on the mpc2500 and i don't feel the need of change anything, is just a space thing and portability

i've tried the mpc1000 one time, but not enough to make me an opinion

what do you think? is the same than using the mpc2500, honestly the pads seems the same on the new black version, the buttons seems a bit more confusing.

thanks

What space are you really saving? Like 3 inches here and 4 inches there?? Nver that. Keep your 2500 and buy a 1000 when you can. You're gonna need to buy jjos again if you switch, too.

sometimes i wish i had all the audio outputs, but that might just make me spend more time fiddling with my daw fx/running up against the ceiling of my daw's cpu. also i don't like the 2500 button layout very much.

Ask yourself the question.... what will help you more? If portability is your issue then yes, get a 1000. If its not, then no need. Desk space an issue? Then maybe you need to rethink what you're doing. I know fools who make beats on the kitchen table and bang out some heat. Its all about what will help you make good music. Go with your gut.

So what was the final verdict? I got a 2500 also and was thinking about trading it in for a 1000 too. I started out with the 1000 but ended up getting a 2500. Now I wanna re-trade it for a 1000 again . Mainly to free up some space on my desk. I kinda got a mental tug-o-war going on at the moment because I still can't decide what to do! My 2500 just might come in handy in the near future, but I don't really use the 8 assignable outputs or my DVD drive that much. Arrrrrgh!

I have both. JJOS 2XL on the 2500 and JJOS OS 2 on the 1000 (like using the 1000 for pattern mode).

In my opinion you can't really go wrong with either - but if I had the choice of just one - then I'd go for the 1000.

1) They are considerably cheaper
2) You can save enough space to put in a midi controller. What works for me is one of those laptop stands holding the 1000 and a controller underneath. Works perfect on a small table.
3) JJOS narrows the gap between the 2 machines. While a great unit, 2500 is not twice as good as the 1000.

My take on this is its all about how important the outputs are to you. The only other thing I'd say is that try to break down the features you use a lot on the 2500 and make sure that you don't lose too much going to the 1000.

2500 all day.

More Q-Links
More Outs
More Buttons (Number Pad)
More Ergonomic
More Comfortable
