2000XL or 1000

Hi! I'm from Poland and it's my first post on the mpc-forums. I know that there are tons of topics like that on the net but I still dont know which machine to choose. The 1k has more memory, builtin effects, USB, and more functions with the JJ OS. These options are missing in the 2kXL but the looks of the machine is awasome and the fact that Pro users are using it more offten. I'v also heard that the build quality, pads and sound of the 2k are far better. The 1k can play samples without loading them, how are you guys dealing with it on the 2kXL? On the other hand I'v read an interview with Pete Rock where he said that he loves the 2500 and it's very similar to the 1k.

Come on bro, you should never base your decision of buying a piece of gear on what others think of it. Research and find what best suites you for your production needs. Remember it's not the machine it's how creative the person using the machine is.

I can't check the two machines so I have to rely on what I read on the net. The 1k has USB and a better OS and that could make things easier.

i think you should definately get the mpc 2000xl because....DRuM RoLL-its a much better machine.i mean it jus a deeper sounding instument.try an get the 8 out and fx card too expand your creativitiy.but without its soundin nice n retro yo!!!!and thats $$$

The 1k can play samples without loading them, how are you guys dealing with it on the 2kXL?

I think that loading all the samples is not a very good idea (with 32mb of RAM)

I have similar issue here still need to decide 1k or 2kXL

a friend told me that 2kXL produce classic hiphop beat sound but 1K has more powerful features.

but why the hell 1k cant produce same quality as the 2KXL cant you manipulate that machine?

had a 2kXL.....loved it...........got a 1k now.........LOVIN the additional features........., there are 2500's floating around out there for same $$$ as 1000's, but they may be floor models....


food for thought, u still gotta make the informed decisions..........Opinions are like asshoels.......everyone's got one and your's stinks....!
