Should I get It? (I'm In Love With It)

Hi,

I actually work with MPC 2KXL, but recently, i realised that the sound of the 2000XL sampler was really insipid to me.
So, as a lot of people told me to get a S950, i found it: yeah it sounds fat, old school, a little dirty, BUT: I tried a MPC 3000 and i was like a kid in front of it, i really love the sound, deep, clear and mellow: As i sample principaly Vocal samples and strings, piano ... the sound is more crunchy and i like it.
So i want to move to this MPC(3K), but, as it's really expensive, some people told me to get a S3000 but i love the MPC3000 and i'd like to have it.

What do you think of the MPC 3000? Is it really useless to buy it? Is it totally similar to get the sampler only (S3000) with 2KXL sequencer for example?

It's the mpc3k engine you're after right? Then it makes sense to me to go for the s3k if you can't afford a mpc3k a you wanna save some loot.

The only downside to what I just suggested is, the mpc3k has a sequencer that's second to none. So if you can live without that, then going with the s3k & a mpc2kxl would be the most reasonable choice.

wish i'd kept my 3kle. miss it dearly......(snif,snif)......been hoping to find another cheap in great condition and I have to have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roger Linn had his hands in designing the 3k, not so with the 2k. The 3k is vintage mpc just like its predecessors.

Get the MPC3000.

3K is the only MPC I kept.

3k's are the way to go especially if your in "love" with it BUT...
the S-3000 will give your more functionality and flexibility for the sampling of strings as you said you wanted to.
the S-3000 sounds identical to the mpc 3k. I own both...

I work more fluently on the MPC3000! The S3000xl is a little bit different. I probably need to work with the S3000xl a little more.

ya but u cant really compare the two, the s3000 and pretty much any rack mount sampler is a pain in the ass to work with.

besides, i think the sequencer and overall functionality and ease of use is the reason to go with the 3000 rather than the punnchy sound. but thats a bonus too...

the SP/60/3000 gots the rawest sequencing bar none.

Surely your post count doesnt mean that much, and yes we all know by now you have just got a 3000.
