Here's one i know people always talk about!! I 've had a 4k and a 2kxl, and when it came down to laying out an idea...............i did it quicker on the 2xkl, and i owned both machines for the same amount of time. For that reason and lack of funds i'm getting my 2kxl back.

Which MPC lets you get ya ideas out the quickest????? And dont say its how well you know the machine, cuz sometimes a machine may have to many options that get in the way of the WORK FLOW!!!, even if you know it front to back.

interesting concept, did you use both for an equal length of time? i know you said you had them for the same length of time, but you could have been using the xl more than the 4k.

lol ya freaks!! yeah i did use them equally i would say. it took more time to get started on the 4k for me, it was different than the 2kxl. But once i got to know just the basics(so much to learn on the 4k it can be overwhelming) I could get my ideas down pretty quick, just quicker on the 2xkl. I have a DAW also, and some advice(or opinions) i was given was that having a 4k was reduntant.

well if that's what you feel sell it. my opinion (though that is ill-informed- i've never owned or used a 4k) is that you can do everything and more on the 4k that you can do on the 2kxl. can you not just treat the 4k as a 2kxl when you want to, and use the extra stuff when you want to? i'm sorry if this is complete gibberish, my excuse is that i have used neither the 2kxl or the 4k, so i don't know the differences in their operation.

No, they have a totally different structure and process of working.
The 4k is truly a different MPC, they did not just add features to the old MPC structure.

I agree! I could get a lot more work done on the 2kxlse3 when I had it unlike now with the 4000 it's so many options to the point when in the process of making a beat I get throwed off because there is so much you can do to perfect the beat. Dang you hit it on the money with this one.

Funny all you have to d o is what you want to doe be it 2k or 4k
I can get around on the 4k just as fast as I could move around on my 2k (CLASSIC) but it wasn't always that way.

hell Im at the point where I can get down in the dark with no lights on like I use to with the 2k

i feel ya aww but what we saying is, for example you know on the 2k you only got the low pass filter so you use that and that's it.........on the 4k use the low pass and then you like but what about trying the band pass, etc. next thing you knwo you fking with the kick for an hour and forgot ya idea. This is just my experience, i get easily sidetracked.
