dunno if to switch

Was up prob been played out by now but this is specific for me.
I have a MPC 2000 and it is much loved dont get me wrong. I like the feel of the unit and it is kinda classic looking, the thing is it aint got no fx or 8 outs on it, for the extra id spend on getting that I could cop a 1k 3k or 2.5k

would it be worth the switch? I kinda hear people say that the converters on the 1 & 2.5k is not as good, i dont know how founded that is?

my other skool of thought is to keep the 2k and cop a 60 for my beats

I tried getting a old 12 bit sampler that goes nicely with the 60 but I did not like the feel cos when I hit a pad it always seemed to trigger as "note off" rather than pay the dration of the note so I tried that avenue but didnt like it.

My mate has a 2500 and it sure looks good, I been using a MPC for a while now so I know my way round it and I firmly believe if you use a MPC you have transferable skills so it aint a case of how the xtra gadgets will make me sound but how the unit sounds compared to the older unit.

In absolute contrast, I use another sampler made by ensoniq and I did a comparison and I think the 2000 sounds a little thin compared to the ensoniq!

anyway back to the original, would it be worth the flip from a 2k to a 1k 3k or 2.5k?

I dont know alot about the chopping but I used to have a xl and I prefered the chopping on that to the 2k, but I for some reason dont want to go back to the xl cos they still go for stupid money!! and I had to get rid of mine cos it got tired out and struggled to get parts...

by the way, there had been problems with mpc1000 pads and os and so on...or it's only with the blue-red colored mpcs1000?

I have a eps and i kinda dig the sound on that, its quite lo fi, so what i been doing is sampling into that then resampling into the MPC

Vegas is a multimedia software program used to edit video and also record audio.

Get the 1000 or 2500 if you can afford it. "warmth" is overrated plus you already have an eps for lo-fi...i would say you are set as is but a newer mpc adds alot of convenice.

Vegas is a daw, that people just don't care about usually, I have been using it for years. It integrates with Acid and Sound Forge like almost seamlessly. It handles video and audio in great detail.... I have my digi001 going into Vegas..

But yeah, EPS +2k, NOOOIICCCCEEE combo man, 8 outs for your mpc would set it right off...... Don't get caught up in newer is better when you are already comfortable and still have room to explore your current gear.

People sometimes I guess would rather get warmth straight outta older gear than learn how to create it with techniques and stuff... I'm fine with either or....

be kinda nice to learn it dog, I notice that with the vintage warmer even the coldest beat warms up, i like the eps if i do the bandwidth to 22k it sounds dirt
