I am a 10 year vet of the MPC 2000, and I must say, we are all in this thing together. As MPC users, can we all agree that THERE IS NO SOFTWARE sequencing program that holds a candle to the MPC?? I am currently working with a platinum producer/engineer, and he is TRYING to convince me that I can get the feel I want in software, with protools 7.4/reason4.0 I did try, but back to the MPC I go!!! As far as which one is KING, I think its already been said, the feel of the older 3000 is unmatched. Maybe second would be the 2000, or the 60 (for feel). As far as features go, I guess the 4000 is all there, but thats too much extra CRAP that I don't need. After all, I'm not doing my whole album onthe drum machine. The 1000, to me, seems like a cheap shot at the 2000XL, kinda a Guitar Center gimmick to sweep in tons of newbie producers. Am I right or wrong on the 1000 here?? As far as the 2500, this seems like the most useful machine, or KING OF THE MPC's. I expect it to flow like a 2000XL, and have all the upgrades the 2000XL and 1000 have AND THEN SOME. There shouldn't be a bunch of stuff that I don't need, like the 4000 has. Obviously, I am about to buy one and dive in. They HAVE dropped in price, thanks to Reason 4.0 being so popular (they just don't know bout the MPC, do they!!). So, if anybody can also tell me this, then please do so. Is there a way that a user can access multiple drum programs per sequence, like on the 2000XL, but on an MPC 2000 or MPC 3000? I assume no, but I was wondering if maybe an OS upgrade out there had some funny stuff going on. Anyways, I will crown my 2500 king, any body got a problem with that?? The 3000 is like an Egyptian Pharoah, but not the current HNIC if you ask me. HOLLA
