The pad upgrade - $180
Spending the $180 and upgrading your ram for under $30 (and keeping the sleek workflow and faster processing of the 1000 - PRICELESS
It seems the only reason you want to get the 2kxl is because of the pads. You have to look deeper than that. Dont look at it as $180 for some pads. Look at it from a point of view as you keeping the many features of the 1000. I dont know about you but if i were to trade my 1000 for a 2kxl, it would mean the loss of to many features that are ESSENTIAL to my workflow. My main reason for sticking with the 1000 is simple. COMFORTABLE WORKFLOW. period

If u want something really bad there's almost always a way to get it. Work hard and/or be creative

When I was 13 I did all types of things the earn a Gulden.
Doin paperrounds, washing cars,working for my dad in his company, buying and selling refurbished stuff to retaillers, copying and selling cd's, selling clothes,selling mixtapes, betting on ball games, play ball games for money (basketball).. Just be creative.

2000XL is a classic in my book. but i do agree with nym lol. go with the 1000. if possible purchase the new black model because it comes with the new pads that are derived from the same design as any classic mpc. if your buying in a music shop have them order you a new one from akai to gaurantee you get the new pads. or else you might buy an older model thats still in stock. and definitely get at least the free jjos. this is all my opinion though so good luck lil homie.
