Help!!! What is the best MPC to go for???

Does the MPC4000 do "patch phrase" like the 2500 with JJOS and what other editing features does the 4K miss out on compared to the 2.5?.

yeah I agree. it is the only 24bit sampler that i know of (besides the z series)... the 5k is still suffering with problems but apprently people are managing. 2500 is great, especially with the jjos, however if you want that advantage with midi, sound quality, and all those extras (high sequencer resolution and all that) then go for the 4k. they put all the features that actually make a difference capability wise... which is just not available on the other machines.

-4 bus fx
-hard drive audio tracks
-pad mute
-keygroups
-average synth onboard
-decent sized tilting screen
-second hand prices aren't that bad ($1300-$1600)
-newer technology and still being supported by wakai

cons:
-saving and load times are being reported to take too long.
-saving effects can be a **** (so i have read, might be wrong)

there's a "bugs" thread in the mpc5000 forum for more "cons".

I've got the 25k and very happy with it. Most complain that the sound isn't classic MPC, but it just depends on how and what you're sampling. USB and 8 outs was important for me for integrating with DAW and doing multitrack recording. I think the 4k has always been my dream mainly because of the sequencer resolution. I have found that truly expressive keyboard runs when midi-ing the 25k to a keyboard are hard because the sequencer forces notes to a lower resolution. But mostly the kind of work I do doesn't require the higher resolution. And when I need it, I just do that stuff through Reason and do the more locked stuff like samples and drum hits through the 25k. Sometimes I'll bounce the Reason phrase to wav and import into the MPC through USB and bam, you can integrate it into the MPC sequence. Its a beast once you learn it. One.

Has the 4K got auto chop and patch phrase?.
