Replace the MPC 5000 for ...?

JJ has worked on that OS for 5+ years straight, and refined it to the point where it's that full of workflow enhancements that very few people know it front to back. Even Nym who has been instrumental in its development recently admitted to not be fully up to speed on various parts of the OS. It can be a journey of discovery or a bit of a head scratcher as to why certain things are in there, but it has the best chopping of any MPC if that's your bag? The support and updates are like no other hardware too.

I mention the 4K merely for the fact that 10 years on it still has the best raw specs of any MPC. If you can handle the mid-school MPC chopping, it covers most other aspects of beat creation as well if not better than other MPCs. It's also a full keygroup sampler which adds a huge amount to the potential of the machine.


It's all down to personal choice, but I would definitely check your 5K isn't a lemon before you do anything.

Ha funny that you're asking. That's exactly what I did. I downloaded the OS 2.0 Addendum as well. Lets just see if I don't let the bugs interrupt my workflow.

Yes I guess you're right and I better don't jump the gun. In any case I'd put the 5k on eBay not before sunday night so I'll squeeze it out today if i find any other bugs.
