I have both 5000 and Studio
I run into too many folks that regret getting rid of gear a year or two down the line. So I would never recommend getting rid of gear. If you've gotten used to the 5000 synth it's worth keeping around and the projects and such dont completely load flawlessly in the MPC software yet (effects not there, filters sound odd to me, obviously synth parts dont carry over - well the midi does but instead of being silent in absence of the 5000 synth, it plays the midi using whatever pgm is nearest - kinda sucks but simple enough to get around). If you are a fan of the size(bigger box) and all the knobs similar to the 5000 go with the Ren. If you just want the MPC software in your life and dont care much for the vintage modes and expansions go with the Studio.
funny I was just thinking about it this morning. I have studio now and I still fire up my 5000 more often. comfort zone i suppose.
