I'm quite happy with it nowadays. At 1.3 and 1.4 i still had some reasons to yell but at 1.5, i cannot say the software is faulty. It is stable, has more features than other MPCs hardware and is perfect for making music in studio and i already have a good PC.
I enjoy the MPC workflow like any other MPC Akai made before, i can load plugins, i have 128 tracks to use, no limitation when i sample and no limitation to the library i can load.
I will not talk any shyt about older MPCs. I've owned a 1000 and i was happy with it. But i know what MPC are and what the Ren can do. I find it better than the 1000 i had, and it has infinite potential to go far beyond what the older MPC wouldnt even dream of.
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. What's the problem really ? You don't have a PC that can host MPC Software ? Or you wanna be old school because old school is cool ? You think people making music on a PC are kids and you're better than that ?
Why do you bring Maschine into this ? Maschine has a completely different workflow. Did you even try it ?
I have no agressivity toward you and i can see why you don't want to trust akai on the software side after the billions of complaints that rained the first year after MPC Ren release. But What you're saying is already outdated and makes no sense. I'm not saying it is perfect now, it is still missing features to make it a real DAW, but things are getting together over time and you can already use it and no, it will not crash often and it will be as fun as other MPCs if not more.
And even if you wanna be stubborn and hate it forever because the pads are enlighted which proves it is definitely a newbie kidz toy, that's fine, you can wait for a 3000$ MPC 6000 which, by the way, will never have a JJOS release, but in no way i will let you suggest to Akai that they should dump the Ren/Studio/Elements. NO WAY.
mpc60III wrote:Thats because you already bought the ren. lol. You will be the minority if they ever came out with such stated above mpc. But to each there own. enjoy your ren man. No love lost. no matter how much they improve it. Its still nothing like a real mpc.
what you have is an answer to Native instruments maschine, a audio interface dressed up to be an mpc with faulty software. That yes over time could be improved.
Id want them to improve it to if I wasted $1,200 on a midi controller. Good thing I waited for all the " I must have it nows" to buy it first. I''ll try the ren... On black friday when the price is set at a price it should of been launched with. lol !!! not worth it..and even then I'd sell it down the road.
If I were dooped into buying a midi controller with fisher price light up buttons for that price.. Id want them to improve the ren as well.. This thread is not about the REN
This is for hardware heads that want another hardware based mpc that has the capability to intergrate with DAW's. I know 30 plus WORKING producers in the industry with credits including myself that are waiting for this.. so again. I think you'd be the minority in that request my friend. BUT.. to each there own. We all have our own workflow and I respect you for that.
