what you guys think mpc 3000 or mpc 2500

the first thing that comes to mind is multiple track lengths (either that or simultaneous sequences, but i might be confused on that one, i'll have to read up on it).

I own a mpc 1000. But I know One Day I own the 3000... unluckily this thing is way too expensive

Listen to Dilla Albums and you know whats up with the sound. Same goes for Dre's Stuff (owns like 7 of em coz doesnt like swapping disks) same for Quik (he actually says it's the best drummachine ever to be built), Listen to Will-I-Am's Lost Change Soundtrack.

Ok...I finally stopped being lazy and recorded the same loop/sequence in both the 2500 and 3000.

I still believe that sound very close, but can tell a slighty difference. My daughter listened to them both and said what's the big deal.

So, I have to MP3 sample files that I can email you or if you have any ideas where to upload them so folks can download them to give their input. Holla at me if you want to hear the samples.......

if youve never owned a 3k, how could you compare. just because it's new doesn't mean it's better. 2500 still has bugs and issues to be worked out. 3k has solid midi timing and sync, while 2500 is still buggy. honda with gadgets dont make it a bimmer.

This is not very accurate and misleading. What bugs are you talking about?

you're gonna tell me 2500 doesnt have any sync issues? many unhappy people out there.

You implied MIDI timing and sync issues..as well as being buggy. Now, if you are going to write that, at least be specific.....

I honestly can't tell the diff. I don't know which one was test number 1 but it sounds a little grittier just a little(I think). If it's not the grittiness that I'm hearing I'm not sure what it is.It does sound just slighty different I think . Then again there so close.................does it really matter?

To me they are both so close. I have to really listen to hear the differences. I really can't say one sounds better than the other.

Is it because it's like the 2000XL?

There are quite a few differences between the two models...and the 3000 does have its own forum, which is combined with the MPC 60.
