The MV is set up specifically for that but i suppose any sampler can be used for vocals but the samples are going to be pretty big . Manipulation may be a challenge also.

I would use the MV or a DAW if you need that functionality.

Mike Acosta does a pretty good job showing the new MV-8800 here.

word to that. give a small appearance change, cheaply add a couple unecessary(imo) things and give it the illusion of having more value.
This may be true...can't argue that, but it's no different than having the MPC-2000 then the MPC-2000XL comes out! That happen to me! There's was little difference other than the LCD screen and not having to load the program disc. Same $hit...different toilet!

Akai has went down scale on every product since the 4000 came out! When people expected something to top the 4K....they dropped the 2500, and so forth! For the record....I'm not dissing MPC users... but just making the point that's been made many times....If you got skill....you can use about anything!

I just ordered the MPC 2000XL MCD (The Blue Model) :D and I currently own The MV-8000. I woke up one morning and just didn't want it no more.
Those Roland Vids just suck...period. The main reason I now RockThaMP is becuz it's simple and too the point. I've came to realize that I didn't need 512 of RAM, V-LINK, Mastering Kit,ect... It's over KILLLLLL 4real. NOw Roland come with that crap 8800. Roland sould stick to keyboads. AKAI got it on LOCK 8)
BTW...I mix and master in ProTools. Why would I master in a drum machine made by Roland. Check ebay real soon...My 8000 will be for SALE starting bid $1200
Yo! 14K I've seen you on MVNATION.COM and I respect your work. If you know anybody that wants to buy a 8000..Holla back.

Why...I know many that have switched either way but that's a major step back by any measure.

I currently own The MV-8000. I woke up one morning and just didn't want it no more.

Fair enough

I've came to realize that I didn't need 512 of RAM, V-LINK, Mastering Kit,ect

Please state what made you buy it i the first place.

Those Roland Vids just suck...period.
Free tutorial vids to help the user - you're going to have a hard time selling that even to the Akai hardcore. They may not like the MV , but NOBODY questions Roland's customer support or the quality of it. I learned the most of the workarounds and tricks for my 4000 right here from other vet users. Akai didn't help me learn sh!t.

BTW...I mix and master in ProTools. Why would I master in a drum machine made by Roland.

There's nothing to say you had to. I find it hard to believe that you are a PT user and you step waaaaay back to an unsupported MPC model instead of using a top notch app like Halion, Battery, Kontact, etc in conjunction with a pad controller.

It's over KILLLLLL 4real. NOw Roland come with that **** 8800. Roland sould stick to keyboads. AKAI got it on LOCK 8)

You knew what you were buying now your dissing it because it does too much. Then you're patting the 2000 on the back but you don't even have it yet. Just doesn't make much sense to me.

1. 14K doesn't really post his trax so what work are you referring to? Just curios... (except that thing with MG$- that exchange was funny).

2. Vague offer to sell with not a single specific...eeehhhh!

I simply believe that what you're trying to convey is being lost in a poorly constructed post. No accusations are being made.

Get off my Dick and shut up! Make a beat dude.
This is my studio and I Quit Roland like an X-girlfriend if I want too. The salesman at the GC sold me on this big ass box. Have you ever been sold something you really didn't need???....Right...Get a life MO

ByRockThaMP Mon Feb 05, 2007 2:17 pm
BtW. My boy has a MP and the workflow is better. I could careless about Roland customer support. I read the manual and figured it out myself. That's why I could make such claims.
This is Funny... Dude is worry about my studio.
:P
I'm done...Please no back and forth...I'm new around here and I don't want to tarnish my name.

Whoa....that exchange about got out of hand!
For the record....I really don't post soundtrax....that's done by design and the way I handle my biz! Thanks for the shouts just the same!!!

Back on topic....I don't really see anything wrong with a company supporting their products by having video tutorials. There's many factors that makes it cool with me:

1. It's free!
2. It makes learning new features easier.
3. It's free!
4. Those that are curious about the features can watch.
5. It's free!
6. Knowing that a company stands by their product...builds reliable trust.
7. It's free!
8. It's from the company itself (not 2nd or 3rd party users).
9. It's Free!
10. Shows they think about users beyond the purchase.
11. If gear was bought used without manual...it really helps.
And most importantly......
12. It's FREE, can't beat that price! Can't knock the hustle!

I'm not here to battle which gadget is supreme! Just speaking on customer support and reliability from a company to the end-user! Just my Opinion!
That's what I posted in the first thread....."YOU BE THE JUDGE!" Which ever gear you guys like is COOL with me! I just wanted to kill some of the myths I've been reading about....that's all!

Most MPCers are narrow minded and won't give the MV a chance.... I have the 2000xl and MV... the MV blows circles around MPC....

I think everyone should pick a machine that fits for them and what is on their level.. to me mpc does enough, if you be patient with it.. and then mix with pro tools.
I'd like to try MV and really feel if it fits me better.. in finland you can't test these machines if you don't know someone who owns one.. but before i bought my machine i searched through different forums and reviews and i am very happy with my decision. But i can admit that there's more hype about mpc than mv..
I know some guys who say that mpc/or any sampler just slows their workflow..
to someone software and triggerpads fits better.. you really should know better before buying 1000$-> machine.
