Do any professional producers use the 500 or 1000?

very stupid question. if you're a "serious minded producer" then you shouldn't worry about the machine's status in the game. specs wise, i'd say the 1k IS more professional than the older models. just my opinion.

I saw DJ Numark perform live with an MPC500 back in December. Mad set too! Prefuse 73 bought one also for it's portability.

These are entry level, travel size MPCs aimed at all you newbies. Buy the MPC you can afford. I don't see pro's using them because of the lack of options, midi & audio ins & outs. Do you seriously believe I would buy a 500 or 1000 when I have a 3000 & 4000? NuAkai made these MPCs for those want an MPC, but can't afford to $2000-3000 for them. Y'all need to stop kidding yourselves. Check out: www.forat.com to see who uses what! Pro's take their music seriously and spares no cost when it comes to equipment; especially when that's how they make a living. But, these are still MPC's. Look at what most these "professionals" do, they just make basic melodys using generic stock sounds, and some just chop records/loop records into a pattern. All the MPCs have more than enough to accomplish what these "professionals" need.

cant see a lack of options compared a 1000 to a 3000..mainly with jj OS


by the way: a 2500 isnt more than a 1000 with more buttons, bigger pads and more midi..

You couldn't give me a MPC 500, 1000, or 2500. I would sale it to cop an SP1200.

What a bullshit thread, I have a 500 and a 60 mk1 and on both I can make beats that sound good. It is not about the MPC it is about the people using it.
