i know there have been dozens of threads about this
but asssuming a 8 ouput 2kXL will cost me around the same as an with new pads modded 1k
what would be the betetr choice?
are the new pads really that smooth like the old ones from the 2kXL ?
i wish to use it NOT ONLY for drums (mostly yes) but also for whole arrangements of samples and midi played melodies
before i track them into logic 8
i work with professional equipment, i am a mpc beginner but no production beginner, so i wonder where are all the detailed pros and cons
as far as i know the 2k XL is as well perfectly integrated in DAW and recording enviorment
i would rather like that old akai vibe wich they add to the sound, than 1:1 like the new ones since i can get clear 1:1 in Logic
another+ is the logical surface and dedicated buttons on the XL since i hate complicate sub-menues wich i think the 1k has more of
but even with card reader the XL seems to be a bit outdated... i dont want to get slow i want to get fast
but i want to have a good vibe with the instrument and dont feel like treating china-plastic
i dont want to hammer the pads but smoothly touch them with wanted velocity effect
my plan is to make and arrange all the beats in the mpc, by vinyl samples as well as professional libraries
than want to play midi from it (like bass) and record it into it
play from external sources melodies into it (like from masterkeyboard+pluging or synthesizer) and record it into the mpc
play chords inside and combine em etc etc
like nearly the whole arrangement!
than i want to track to logic and further manipulate and put FX on em
of course i would like a good coloring
i just dont want to make a step that makes all more work and complicate to me
and dont knwo wich oen to take
2500 is too expensive for me and i am not sure if their sound goes mor ein the xl direction or 1k direction
thanks for help
cheers
