Classic MPC's Vs. New MPC's

I'm more of a classic MPC users, and I get hyped up when I can get one the the older MPC's. I just love what Roger Linn did for Akai. The sound and feel of the classics can't be replaced. The new ones don't really do it for me. What do prefer?

these discussions are useless. If the beats are wak it wont matter what machine it was made on....

Everything has it's pro's and it's cons'. And it depend on the users priority when a pro or a con will be heavy enough to make the final decission.

I had the same discussion with myself the last three months. I really like vintage gear, the way it looks, the way it feels when u'r playing it, the way it sounds...and of course just the fact some old machines are just a piece of history.
I really like the way the 3000 sounds, and it can also be upgraded to modern times quiet easily, with the OS and multireader card.

Still I went out to cop a mpc 2500 last week. Brand new, with warranty. No dying buttons, pads, knobs and screens for me the next few years. And if something will break down on me in two years, I still have my warranty.
I need my mpc to be very reliable for the next 5 to 10 years at least. It's the heart of my studio. It controls all my samplers, it's my sequencer, it's my soundlibrary (HD). I can back up stuff so easily with the usb. Need to be mobile? bounce my stuff on a CF card, pop it in my 1k and I'm off....

Spot on there mate! I love the ease of use of the 2500 and having a huge chunk of my old and current sound library on board. I loved my XL but I can see the 25 having a much bigger impact on how I work now.
