I almost made it back on to an MPC the other night, it was 1am in the deepest darkest Yorkshire Dales, I was hunched over my laptop watching eBay like a hawk. Bidding on a MPC 2000xl SE, a minute to go, and someone outbid me! Gah was going to be a great deal, if whoever won this auction reads this well done squire, you got a great deal!
Well I used to have 2500, sold it a while back and almost instantly regretted it! Still on the hunt for something to get some of that MPC groove and work flow back in my productions.
Right the real reason I posted on this forum is I used to love the Direct Record feature on the 2500 (recording my live bass parts and such), I now see the 5000 has a hard disc recorder, does the MV8800 also offer this functionality? Or is it recording to RAM in a similar way to Direct Record? The feature is not a deal breaker, but was kind of handy!
Still gutted over the eBay auction, had got my hopes a little too high I think, sure we've all been there......
Looking at various options now from buying new to looking at older MPCs like the 4000 theres some pretty good deals out there right now, fingers crossed!
