they work great together. its great for background loops and noises. the effects are also really good, they're easy to activate since they have a dedicated button section and knobs for different parameters. i use it alot to create sounds (with heavy use of effects). got it for 180 on ebay. first sampler, i'd never sell it.

Dilla and the Sp303?

Who cares if Dilla used it or not. The SP303 is a great buy. The effects are ill. The sequencer sucks of course but the real beauty of this little sampler lies in how much fun you can have chopping and coloring samples.

Nah, I think the SP-303's sequencer was ill. It'll bust your @ss but the results was dope. I used to set it to 36 bars and on the first pass I'd laid down the main bass line samples while tapping the snare, then play out the kicks, then add other stuff on the next pass and so on. That sp made me work.

Now I use it as an effects processor.

Don't forget that he also put gas on the sh!t, lit it on fire and then his whole discography came out of a recording session of that one moment instantaneously . . . . just a little known fact .

I never knew that but I do got my MPC on a 12'' footstool. It just feels comfy to bang close to the floor.

@ dj pound: yes. you can resample with the 303. but not in an old school way (no 32, 16, 8 khz thing). it let you recording your pad perfomance in one pad. in other word you be able to record the Out of the 303. this feature is avalible in all sp-boss/roland.
by the way the compressor fx in the 303 is pure dope.
