Census: Which MPC or MPC like tool do you use?

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but in this instance it is simply for statistical interests. I'm not asking for which MPC I should buy, as I already own some, this is just for informational purposes. If you own multiple units, choose the one that is your preference or most used. This is about the units you own, not units that you'd like or plan to own.

Roland V-Drum kits and trapKAT typed products are purposely not listed as these do not seek to compete directly with the MPC series, target it's demographic, replace them, nor do they seek to emulate the tactile interface or functions of an MPC. If you use a controller, let's not make this about third-party software that you may use with it vs. an MPC. It is moot, as even an MPC can be used with Battery, Guru or such. The SP was included for obvious reasons.

This will also probably cut down on likewise posts, notably those, "Which MPC is best" or "Which MPC should I buy" posts. The numbers should tell the tale, and the community preference. Of course particular posts that directly compare the benefits of a model versus another are a different story.

I own the mpc2000, 2000xl, 1000, 60 (also a dead 3000) and the 4000. (also SP1200 and ASRx just to name a few)
Primarily I use the 4000.

I got a 60. My main cuz its so tuff, and huge...and tuff!

Got a 1000, had a 2000 and an s20. everything on my setup is based around the 1k. I use it as a master for MIDI and basically everything I do goes thru it one way or another. For me it just works all around for my requirements so I have no plan on changing it up any time soon.

Not really, the numbers depend a lot on how old the machines are and which price segment they target. After that poll, I bet a six pack that the 1000 will be the most frequent (just need to look at the post counts in the different sub-forums).

Still, an interesting poll, if a lot of users participate.

True. However the same can be said about various sub-forums, as the post count for each can just be reflecting potential buyer interests as influenced by price and current expectations of the target demographic -- as opposed to actual owners of the relative units. Polls and such, like this are inherently hampered from being completely accurate due to the nature of not being able moderate all the variables. Regardless, I still think it could be an interesting poll also - like you said.

I get exactly what you mean though, and you're probably right.

im poor so i use fruity loops 8 producer edition. it has something called the FPC. it basically gives mpc function in the program and can be routed to midi keyboard allowing u to treat the keyboard like pads.

M-Audio Trigger Finger, I used to rock this for a little over three years. I sold it to my friend earlier this year. It was a pretty cool controller too!

Take a look at my sig and you know the aswer No not really cause most of the time I use the 2000 just as sequencer for my s950 and FZ1.
I should put these two in my sig too....
