Software that best emulates mpc?

Anyone know what software would most emulate MPC sampling capabilities and sequencer functions with an easily sampling mapping aspect?

one of the best things i think the mpc series has is it's simplicity, it gets u working hard.

although i haven't used the 2500,5000, or 4000...so can't really talk on those....but those dont seem to have the loveliness the originals had.

things i'm interested in:

sopmething that simply gets set up and goes and isn't 10000 settings.

Maybe not a comparison. but curious.


I really would love an mpc, but the sheer aspect of buying an mpd controller and using my macbook on the train seems like a joy. would kill that subway ride in seconds:-)

I have a number of apps. but nothing seems to give me the joy an mpc has. not becuase "an mpc is an mpc"

just due to the complexity and interface. shitty intrfacing.

there's that one that acme out with the 16 pads that you could use your keyboard for tho, no?:-)

oh yea, not just the portability factor. but the whole scsi, floppy and zip and stupid shit just doesn't seem like a joy to me. slow startups

My opinion..... Ableton Live 8 Hands Down Ableton teamed up with a good midi controller is deadly. Sequencing, sampling, and sample editing just like an mpc. (in many instances outperforming mpcs) Check out the Jazzy Jeff using Ableton live video.

I agree on Ableton 8 as well, you can actually emulate the workflow of an MPC.
Create a drum kit on Impulse with samples chopped from a loop you just sampled or imported, start an empty loop, add sounds, then create a new instrument and start again!

Sometimes I feel I should drop my MPC and use just Ableton plus a controller...

Native Instuments Maschine does the game, trust me...

i do like ableton a lot, i really want to sell my korg esx and pick up that controller, would really give me the interface option.

I want to avoid the complexity, as cool as it is, it can get too complex.


for now i'm broke, i want that akai mini drum controller and a simple app

Guru i was using for a bit, seems pretty good, but when using it it crahsed a lot.


one major thing i am interested in is : simply and easy quantize. most programs seem to compllicate this....


i think the only a few responses shows something, heresy! lol.

i've been using MPCs for a lon time, and other units. to realize that time of the world has passed:o ...digital hardware sucks, the interface is what makes them good.

i use this from time to time, and this is the closest i have gotten to an mpc hands down
the workflow is just as quick as my 2500. i wish the programmer would add more things to it, like sampling and chopping, and a few other things
but never the less its a dope ass program

fpc in fl studio is the shit......i use it all the time for drums or samples....can be hooked up to any midi controller through usb or if your interface has midi in out as well...never had any issues..

I love FL studio but the FPC lacks alot IMO. Poise VST is much better.
