i need one only for being the main sequencer for Logic and ASR 10 and for eing able to play the drums (ASR10) on pads instead of keys...

i am on a very tight budget so all i can afford is a quite "naked" mpc 60 (II) with an old OS without SCSI... standard ram (dont mind SCSI as i wont sample through the mpc)

but will i loose much in matters of sequencing with an older OS compared to the last Linn OS ?

or would a 2KXL wich of course has more features would be a better way to go? (again i am most likley will not use 2 samplers!!!)

the 60 would come for a low price... 2KXL a bit more

the main reason i look at the 60 is that i am expecting a better Sequencer timing/feel for loose, swinging smooth offbeat Tracks.

is that realistic thinking and true or am i trippin on legends and words?

i know about the ASQ10 (that one is overpriced tho)

but as i said, i ll need pads.... so a cheap 60 without extras as SCSI,max Ram etc is actually a good fit

i just have no clue about the OS.... will it give me headaches sequence-wise?

and if the differenece in the sequencer (to 2kXL) is worth it

would be cool if anyone realisticly could try to describe the diff between the seq`s

like i said.. i ve been there.. didnt enjoy.
too much features and submenues i never use and that are only in my way

there is not even a freakin advantage of the digital stuff and HD option since i am not gonna use the mpc for sampling very much now (will be handled by the ASR) so i rather get the loose swing of the 60 honestly

i agree the Grid editor of jjos2 was the sh!t but thats about it... i am sure theres a nice step edit in the 60 aswell?
if so, only in the 3.11 OS or also 2.xx OS ?

just thought someone may say the 2kxl has same loose/offbeat smooth swinging seq than the 60.. than i would have changed my mind but now its 60 most likley

btw Dalton (on here) has a MPC 60II for sale for a very fair price

i went for one from EU dont want the customs-trouble
