Which MPC for my Ensoniq EPS classic?

I've got an Ensoniq EPS classic but i'm a little bored with the ensoniq sequencer and i'm looking now for an mpc but i can't choose the right one.

The mpc should be 16 or 24 bit and have an waveform. So forget about mpc 60, 500 and 3000 that's not for me

I want to control the EPS (love the 12 bit crunch on the drumz and the filter's from the EPC classic) with the Akai MPC. The bass and drumz will come from the EPS and the rest from MPC so i it should have an easy slicing menu (to make it fast and precisely). I don't need effects on the machine because i will use Hardware and DSP effects.

1000 or 2500 w/ JJOS all day.

Ok but the 2000xl or 5000 is also 16 bit and has waveform. And parts for the other mpc's are available on mpc stuff or vst service.

On the thread are no conretes why the 1k is better then the 2000xl or on retreat...

Of course you knew that there's only ONE mpc that does both bit depths right?

Yes i know that only the 4k has 24 bit depth...

Nope. You won't find a display for the 2000xl either cause its the same as in the 2000. Read the mpcstuff site http://www.mpcstuff.com/mpc2000-lcd-sc.html and replace "currently" with "probably forever".

You want a MPC to control you EPS and to sample. Sure you can buy the 5000 but do you need it? Do you need that synth in it? Do you have that much money to spend?

MPC5000 = 1600 Euro (new)
MPC1000 = 730 Euro (new)

My very first Sampler/Sequencer was a "classic" Ensoniq EPS. Believe me these are the MPC you want, hands down.
Especially if your not already sure which MPC you want.

Yup I'm running my MPC1000 with the S-950 and they work flawlessly. I mainly use the S950 for drums and some low end bass while the MPC for my main sample.

You can do this the same with the EPS.

I know. (I had an s950 too but i sold it to have money for mpc 1000 and apple mac mini)
