MPC 2000XL VS. MPC 2000XL MCD

Hey yall. I just copped a 2000xl mcd in great shape off ebay. My question is will the original 2000xl give a "grittier hip hop sound" over the 2000xl MCD? Or are they the same in terms of sound and the difference is the color and the card reader? I don't know if this question has been answered but thanks alot!! Peace.
